We build constructive relationships to improve captive animal welfare globally

Story

On the 6th of June 2021* I will be jumping out of a plane (hopefully with a working parachute attached) in order to raise money for this fantastic and unique charity.

As a zookeeper, I know the importance of zoos and the role they play within conservation, education and research. In many zoological facilities, the welfare standards experienced by animals is phenomenal, but in others it isn't.

Wild Welfare forms long lasting relationships with animal care facilities and associations across the globe, slowly but steadily improving animal welfare through training and encouragement.

The magnitude of the problem of poor welfare is huge and the charity sees some truly awful things but they also manage to create a lot of positive change to reduce and prevent animal suffering.

Wild Welfare are tackling an immediate problem with a long term solution and it is their hope that eventually, every zoo will be a good zoo. Help me to help them with that challenge.

Wild Welfare is a global organisation committed to improving animal welfare for captive wild animals. By working together with animal welfare organisations and captive wildlife facilities, including zoos, aquariums and sanctuaries, we achieve long-term and sustainable solutions to the most critical issues facing wild animals in captivity. Our vision is a world where every captive wild animal is able to thrive and live a good life. Founded in 2012, Wild Welfare is a UK registered charity working globally to improve welfare for wild animals living in captivity. We are the first captive wild animal charity that is solely focused on improving welfare standards by uniting animal welfare NGOs and captive wildlife facilities around the world. Our projects help wild animals living in poor conditions in captivity. Using our knowledge and experience we build constructive relationships with animal welfare organisations, captive wildlife facilities and local communities, ensuring changes can be made to improve animal welfare.
