Cohere is transforming communities by transferring power within the response to refugee crises. To make the most effective and sustainable change, we work closely together with local refugee-led organisations (RLOs), who know exactly what's needed to address the challenges their communities face.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my 'Sarah in Uganda' page! As many of you already know, I will be spending 3 months volunteer teaching in schools across Kampala, working with Congolese refugees. I will be involved in a number of projects, including teaching children in several government aided and refugee run schools, helping to deliver a reading program and assisting with teacher training for local Ugandan teachers.

I am raising money to pay for teaching resources, in particular sets of reading scheme books. These are an invaluable tool for helping the non English speaking refugee children get to grips with the language.

Please note, none of the money raised will be paying for my trip or any associated costs. This page has been reset due to a change in Xavier project accounts, but all the money you have previously given has been received by Xavier and is being used in Kampala.
