Story
As many of you know, George was born early and critically ill so he needed Neonatal ICU care to survive. As parents we were flung into a world of beeping machines and seeing our precious little boy struggling to survive every day and without the machines he wouldn't be here now! It's a scary thought but it is reality. Bliss offer support through a helpline and volunteers who are on the Neonatal ward on a weekly basis. These volunteers support parents who are emotionally trying to keep it together even though inside they are completely falling apart, like Nick and myself! In each baby's memory box there is a handbook explaining everything a parent needs to know about life on a Neonatal unit and afterwards if you are lucky enough to take your precious baby home. Bliss also strive to get medical advancements and more Neonatal specialist nurses. For this they need money and that is why I jumped out of plane even though I am extremely scared of heights, (I can't even climb a ladder without feeling wobbly!!!) to try to raise as much as possible for a charity that has been invaluable for us as a family. I raised £445 of the total on this page from kind donations for the skydive. My fundraising is ongoing and now I am putting my efforts into coffee mornings and other fundraising challenges which I will keep you posted on as and when they are finalised.
