I really hate cancer. It makes me angry.
So what can I do about it? My scientific skills and knowledge are probably around key stage 1, so the best I can do is to raise money for people who are a bit smarter than me.
Along with some of my wonderful friends I am going to be completing a series (if you can call three events a series) of sporting challenges in aid of cancer research. Check out what they do here
http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/home/ They are great.
Firstly, we will be cycling over 150 miles from the west coast to the east coast of England along Hadrian's wall. Secondly, we will be running the Bristol Half Marathon which actually fills me with quite a lot of dread. And finally, if we are still alive by this point, we will be doing a marathon on roller blades.
In memory, and in belief that there are things bigger than cancer.
(Please let me know if you'd like me to dedicate a stretch of the ride/run/skate to anyone, including those who are fighting or have beaten it)
