Story

I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on 28thMay 2023 to raise some money for PSC support!!

This charity offers support for those affected by Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) through research to find a cure, improving care by advocating for those affected and by providing educational information and support systems .

My wonderful friend Gem was diagnosed with PSC in 2020. The charity has and continues to be a massive support for her and her family. I am fundraising so this support can continue, and for research that helps to find better treatments and ultimately a cure! I am so so grateful for any donation big or small!

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a rare and complex immune-mediated disease of the bile ducts. Symptoms can be severe and unpredictable, sometimes progressing so far that the only lifesaving option is a liver transplant. People with PSC live with an increased risk of developing some cancers, including bile duct cancer and colon cancer. More than three quarters also live with inflammatory bowel disease. Even after a liver transplant, PSC returns in around a third of patients. There is no way to slow or stop the progress of this devastating disease and people living with PSC desperately need a cure. Your donations will help PSC Support to provide much-needed support and information to people affected by PSC. Critically, they'll help PSC Support to fund and drive ground-breaking PSC research, taking us closer and closer to a cure. Every penny counts. Thank you. #LetsBeatPSC
