Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know we lost Ian's my mum nearly 3 months ago to Cancer. Both me and my boyfriend Ian have signed up and guaranteed our places on the Great South Run. We are both running this for The Royal Marsden Hospital in London which is a hospital that we feel we owe a lot to. Ian's mum was refused treatment for her condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital and we were told she only had a short time left with us. We set about and had her reffered to The Royal Marsden Hospital and they agreed to see her and operated on her very soon after. They gave us hope but more importantly they gave us all an extra year with Ian's mum which will be cherished forever..... None of us had ever heard of The Royal Marsden Hospital before Ian's mum took ill but we can honestly say the care and treatment that she received there was second to none. They really gave us hope and always helped us in everyway when we returned for clinics or aftercare.

Because of this care and because of the wonderful people that we met along this very emotional journey and the opportunity to actually give all the money we raise to the department that treated Ian's mum we feel that this would be the ideal opportunity for us to be able to show how much we appreciate what they did for us all. To get the guaranteed places we are asked to raise a minimum of £300 each for the Royal Marsden Hospital. We think this is easily achievable and if everyone of my friends on Facebook gave just £1 each then I would absolutely smash this. I will put a link on Facebook which will allow people to sponsor me and if possible please please just £1 from each of all of my friends will help me reach this goal. That little ammount will make a huge difference for another family that are experiencing the same kind of heart ache and worry that we all did and we would just love to feel that we can give something back just as a small token of our appreciation to a place that has really given Ian's mum hope and allowed us all to get many more precious and priceless memories that will remain with us all forever. We will be out training to a vigorous 12 week training programme so be sure to give us a wave if you see us !
