Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
So the challenge has come and gone and the four of us survived –just!! Thank you so much to everyone for the amazing words of support on this page and also the extremely generous donations. Both of these things kept us going during the two very tough days on Dartmoor. The word challenge was a significant understatement. We walked for two hours in the dark on Saturday night and then only just managed to limp over the finish line, with some assistance on the way. Me with a suspected broken ankle, which luckily is only a bad sprain, Fiona with a fractured collar bone and too many blisters between us to count. We were greeted with cheers from friends and family and presented with gin & tonics and dairy milk – just what we all needed – oh and a bath – although everyone knows ladies don’t perspire or smell! So we definitely all went through the mill that weekend. Everyone who took part was amazing – we were all prepared to help and support each other. It was quite a sight to see 30+ teams set out across the moor. The Shelterbox team were fantastic – the organisation of the event was spot on in every way and they were all very encouraging and motivating at the various check points. As a team we also need to thank Dartmoor Mountain Rescue who came to our aid on more than one occasion across the weekend. It would be brilliant if we could push the amount we raised to £2,500 – that would be 5 boxes – which would help at least 50 people. So if you haven’t already please make a donation today, any amount is very much appreciated. Finally thank you to the guys at Evolution – Fiona, Martin, Nik and Rob – we couldn’t have done it without you!
