Story
My dear father Larry Pascoe was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002. He received many years of treatment via the wonderful NHS, but finally succumbed to his illness in 2012, by which time he had been bed bound for many months, in pain and a shadow of his former self.
I was very privileged as a Consultant Oncologist to treat and care for thousands of men with prostate cancer, and their families, during my career.
I wanted to raise awareness of this illness, and charities such as Prostate Cancer UK through this fundraising effort. This was the perfect year to do my triathlon as this marks the 20th year of my Dad’s diagnosis, it is also the 10th anniversary of his death.
