Story
As many if you know, I am a surviour of Domestic Violence.
We are at a pandemic of domestic violence in the uk. 3 women are killed every week, the police receive a call about domestic violence in the uk every 30 seconds.
Most of us, including myself, cannot get access to therapy or services to help us recover.
Women's trust provide a wealth of support for women in my situation. I was unfortunately, locked out of their service, due to long waiting lists, being displaced out of borough. If I had access to their therautic services; my recovery would have been much faster, and less painful.
I keeps me awake at night, thinking about how many other women, were in my situation; and also cannot get access to support.
When we cannot get access to support; we are trapped within our trauma. This means recovery is a long, painful and isolating experience.
Despite Teresa Mays sticky plaster of 'extra' public funds dedicated to women's services.... this does not replace the deficit initially created in budget cuts to keep these vital, life saving services open.
Help me, to help them keep their services open; and hopefully less women will slip through the net of accessible support.
Please.
