السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Assalamu alaykum warahmutallahi wabarakatuhu
Peace be upon you!
Firstly thank you for taking the time to open my fundraising page, and for showing interest in advancing the younger generation of Muslims, helping them to excel at university and beyond!
I am raising money this Ramadan for the Manchester Muslim Student Fund (MMSF), a charity built around supporting Muslim students at university, giving them the best opportunities to thrive in their education and fulfil their potential.
As part of the grant scheme we will be running the “Students in Sport” project, an initiative encouraging students at university to get involved in sports, helping to support all of their goals and ambitions, and to achieve their full potential! Whether that may be through entering in to leagues/competitions, providing kit and equipment, getting coaches, we want to give them the opportunity to thrive in sports, improving their health and well-being (both mental and physical), and allow them to reach levels they wouldn’t normally be able to reach without this support. We’re also hoping that this initiative will encourage even more Muslims to get active and involved in sports, something encouraged by the Prophet SAW himself.
Having been a sports fanatic myself all throughout my life in education (name a sport out there that I haven’t tried lol), I understand how much a bit of funding can truly help in excelling students and allowing them to reach their maximum potential, shining a massive positive light upon Muslims, and even being a beautiful, subtle form of da’wah in of itself.
To encourage you to donate, I have pledged that my brother and I will participate in a most likely embarraaazing football “crossbar challenge” (for non-footballers: we’ll be taking turns aiming shots at the crossbar of a goalpost… believe me it’s hard), with the loser having to perform a forfeit… the catch is.. whichever of you donates the most gets to choose the forfeit themselves! 😳
Every penny will go DIRECTLY to helping students in need and supporting their goals in sports.
We’re hoping that this will help provide the students a feeling of belonging somewhere, which is imperative to a good working environment, so by supporting Muslim sports groups, we enable the development of a thriving Muslim community on campus.
BarakAllah feekum,
May God bless you!
