Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
15 years ago I underwent major surgery.
I was told at the age of 22 I had a Giant cell tumour in my right femur. The tumour grew so big is shattered my femur and tibia. Luckily the tumour wasn’t cancerous , but with the rarity of the type of tumour (one in a million) my treatment options were limited.
I was fortunate enough to be treated at The Royal Orthopaedic hospital where I spent many weeks , and still visit now for check ups.
During my time in hospital I witnessed the amazing work they do to save and repair peoples bones from some terrible diseases.
I am lucky enough to have just a scar and an impressive 15 inch titanium rod in my leg. The work they can do is unbelievable.
To celebrate 15 years of successful surgery I thought I’d set myself a challenge. Everybody loves a burpee right?!
Please spare what you can to support the incredible services the NHS offer and the amazing work of this specialist hospital.
I’ll be starting my challenge 1st October , so plenty of time to donate.
