Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to enter the London-2-Cambridge 100km to raise money for Parkinson's UK inspired by my gran and grandpa. My gran, a member of MENSA and expert lamber, suffered with Parkinson's for several years. This horrific disease slowly took away her active life style and mind and in April 2015 she lost her fight with the disease. Despite this, my grandpa has stuck by her as her full time carer. Motivated by grandpa's grit and determination to not let Parkinson's stop them, I'd love to raise some money for Parkinson's research and family/career support and with your help i can.
Parkinson's disease is life-changing not only for those with the disease but also for those caring for them and their family members therefore the money we raise will go to supporting community care centers for those with Parkinson's and family/friends or carers and funding scientific research into a cure/prevention/treatment of the disease.
One person in every 500 has Parkinson's. That's about 127,000 people in the UK. Symptoms and how quickly they progress are different for everyone, making it even harder to treat. There's currently no cure, but drugs and treatments are available to manage many of the symptom
Right now the goal is to finish the 100km and raise some money.
Thank you so much for your time and donations
