Many people in the UK suffer from this condition, and many are too afraid to talk about it.  The psychological impact and emotional upset it can cause is hidden.  To look in the mirror and see someone else staring back at you is tough.  To see your hair falling out, and your eyebrows disappearing is heart breaking.  But if we raise awareness, and talk about it openly, we can help people overcome it.  

I am just one of those people with the condition - there are many out there.  If I can make just the slightest difference in supporting others through this, then shaving my hair off is a small price to pay.
