EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon 11th October 2009
to raise £500 for The Outward Bound Trust
I have been selected to mentor for The Outward Bound Trust in Snowdonia, Wales from Monday 5
th to Friday 9
th October as part of the DHL UK Foundation.
As part of the programme all mentors are asked to raise £500 for the Trust to help support their on-going commitment with helping under
privilege young people.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored my half marathon and donated to The Outward Bound Trust. I completed the Birmingham EDF Half Marathon in 2 hours and 9 minutes and had a truly brilliant time at The Outward Bound centre in where I mentored a group of ten teenagers.
Also thanks has to go to Nicky Donavan at the DHL UK Foundation who arranged for the DHL colleagues to act as mentors for the residential course from 5
th – 9
th October. The course regrettably clashed with my half marathon which I completed on the 11
th after a gruelling week of hiking and climbing. That said, I didn’t manage to complete the marathon in under 2 hours (as I had originally hoped), but did manage to do it in just over.
Thank you again to everyone who sponsored my run, I had a great time and am already thinking about my next half marathon in March 2010, so watch this space.
