Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been given an incredible opportunity to make a difference in a rural community in India where I will be working with VSO ICS (Voluntary Services Overseas International Citizens Service) for 10 – 12 weeks. I will be working alongside Indian colleagues on a project in Ajmer (state of Rajasthan).

VSO send volunteers to fight poverty and are one of the biggest and most respected international development organisations that send volunteers across the globe. They fight poverty by improving education, improving health by providing people with better access to healthcare and they improve people’s livelihoods by providing reliable access to food and income so individuals can live with independence and dignity.

I expect to leave in September 2017. I will be living with a host family to allow me to integrate with the local community and experience their culture.

My project focuses on youth development which includes educating communities on issues such as hygiene and nutrition, helping to organise and deliver health camps and to provide awareness around certain issues, such as maternal and early child nutrition.

Any funding, no matter how small will go towards the ICS programme. With your help I aim to raise a target of £800.
