Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Both my children were born prematurely at Birmingham Women's Hospital and had to spend time on the neonatal ward and I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done for me and my family. Jack was born at 36 weeks on 12/04/2007 weighing 6lbs 1 oz by emergency c section, I was told that they had 6 minutes to deliver him. The amazing staff acted so quickly and ensured that we were both ok, Jack spent a week on the neonatal ward. Joseph was born at 28 weeks on 30/01/2013, weighing 2lbs 10 ozs and was no bigger than my hand. Joseph spent 6 weeks on the neonatal ward. The hardest day was when I was finally discharged and had to leave my precious baby at the hospital. But knowing that when I left each evening that the amazing staff were looking after him and spoke to me throughout the night when I would ring to check how he was helped me and Charlie through this difficult time. They continued to support us through the weeks on the neonatal ward, the two weeks Joseph and I spent on the transition ward and now through our check ups at the baby clinic.
Those of you who know me and Sarah Tancred, know that we are not runners at all! Once we had Joseph home I decided that I wanted to support and raise money for the neonatal ward. Since January (on and off) Sarah T and I have been 'trying' to run! We have decided that are goal is the Birmingham half marathon in 2015 and to build up to this we will sign up to other runs beforehand.
