Story
We have all been touched by cancer. Aileen (Joan's sister and Amelie and Mia's great aunt) was a victim of breast cancer. Lesley (Sarah's mum and Amelie's grandmother) was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37 and died at the tender age of 45. Joan has been one of the lucky cancer survivors. This is a cause very close to our hearts, not least because of our losses but also because Sarah is half way through a PhD in cancer research at the Cambridge Research Institute and her work is partly supported by Cancer Research UK. The three generations of Fawcett women (one gran, two mums and two daughters) are participating together in the race for life in Cambridge in July. We might not break any records but we will get around the course together and remember special people on the way. Any support is greatly appreciated!
