This summer I will be walking 7.5 kms as part of Walk for Endo. It takes an average 7.5 years to be diagnosed with endometriosis. That's 7.5 years of endless tests, appointments and medication to try and keep the pain at bay and get answers. I was lucky in a way and was diagnosed at 17, now 39 and with further surgeries still to come this year I still have endometriosis. Next surgery may see me having some of my bowel removed and need a stay in ITU and have a stoma. Endometriosis is not just painful periods or heavy menstrual bleeding it is a lifelong condition. Millions of women suffer without knowing what is wrong for years, so in a way I am the lucky one I know whats causing the pain, the fatigue, the rectal bleeding and the inability to pass urine. Please do what you can, give what you can. I am now doing this to help others and help support research that may mean my daughters generation don't have to go through what so many millions of other women have. Let's make their pain, my pain worth something. Let's make a change now.
