Story

Hello

Did you know ironically its the year of the Nurse and Midwife and the 12 May 2020 is the 200th anniversary celebration of the birth of Florence Nightingale?

Due to the COVID pandemic myself and my Unit are unable to take part in many of the celebrations which includes events that raise money for the Florence Nightingale Foundation.  This charity provides scholarships to clinical staff to promote leadership and encourage individuals to follow in the steps of Florence Nightingale to make clinical changes in the support of outstanding patient care.

Joint Hospital Group South (my Military Unit) have set the challenge for all its personnel to complete 31 days from the 12 May 2020 of a 200 physical activity.

I am personally going to attempt to complete 31 days of doing 200 squats a day.  Those that know me well will back up that this will definitely be a challenge for me! (I do have bilateral shin splints and in extremis I may have to do 200 calf raises a day - but it is hoped I will stick to the squats).

So I ask you to reach into your pockets, donate and gift aid on this page to provide me support to complete this challenge and aid monies to help create tomorrows clinical leaders.

I will provide updates on my Facebook page.

Thank you in advance.
