Since I became a primary school teacher 13 years ago, almost everyday I have been amazed and often saddened by the number of children and families who are in need of support. In the past, there have been many organisations and services available to offer them the support they need, however, more recently huge cuts have meant that these lines of support have been reduced massively. It's awful to think that there are so many children in need, who are unable to get the support they need.

I started running in September, in the usual 'back to work after the summer holidays' regime! Having built up very slowly (what I do probably can't really be classed as running - it's probably more of a slow jog!!), I have found it a great stress reliever and have enjoyed setting myself little targets to work towards. I have no idea whether I'll survive a half marathon, but I'll give it my best shot! Whilst doing so, I can't think of a better charity to hopefully raise some funds for.
