Story
Since we found out about my breast cancer, we've tried to protect but also be as honest as possible with our 3 wonderful children. When I found out that Chemotherapy was part of my treatment plan, I started thinking about how myself & the kids would handle my hair loss and could we make it easier.
I've been advised that it can be uncomfortable and obviously upsetting when it falls out. With all that in mind, I've decided to let the kids shave off my hair before my first session. This will hopefully make the whole thing a bit of fun while allowing me to take control of the hair loss instead of the cancer taking it from me. We'll be doing the shave on the morning of Saturday 13th March.
Breast Cancer Now are new to me but are involved with research and provide lots of literature and information. They have also matched me with a volunteer to speak to who is a similar age with a young family and went through similar treatments. The charity have an office in Sheffield but operate nationally and need as much help as possible.
If you can make a donation, however big or small, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is obviously very close to home at the moment and I'd like to do something that can help others that find themselves in this position in the future. And please, please, please - keep checking those boobies!!
