Story
This year, as well as me turning 40, It is the 20th anniversary of my Dad's death, he died suddenly of a heart attack. To remember his life and set myself a challenge I decided to do something to raise money for the BHF (British Heart Foundation)... And be fitter at 40.... I hope!!
One day while scrolling Facebook a 10 mile run event in Richmond Park popped up! This seemed like the perfect opportunity as it brought together some beautiful memories and something that I would have to train to achieve.
My Dad loved Richmond Park and would use any excuse to drive home through the park, even if that meant taking the most circuitous route home! In addition to this I had great memories of sunny Sunday afternoons spent with family enjoying the beauty of the park.
I only started training in March, the event is on the 4th June. This didn't stop me, you all know I can be determined and was ready to take on the challenge.
Thank you heaps for visiting my page and I am so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target, and give others longer with their loved ones... . Thanks! 😊
