Story
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I'm going to be climbing the 3 highest mountains in the UK in 24 hours as part of the Warwick Medics National 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Macmillan.
We want to raise money for Macmillan as they provide support and advice to people and their families who are dealing with cancer. This support really is invaluable and is what makes Macmillan such a great charity. Cancer affects so many people and in our experience Macmillan have been able to help make an extremely difficult time less bewildering and easier to manage. So many of the patients I have worked with rave about the fatastic work Macmillan do.
We will be starting with Ben Nevis (1,344 m, 4,409ft) at 5pm Tuesday 18th June and hopefully be down before dark. We will then drive through the night (with help from our lovely drivers) and begin climbing Scafell Pike (978m, 3,209ft) in the dark! Finally, we'll climb Snowdon (1,085m, 3,560ft) and be down before 5pm Wednesday. The total distance walked will be around 44 km (27 mi) and a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m)!
This is going to be a huge challenge, I have invested in some awful walking boots and so far spent a VERY wet weekend in Snowdonia in preparation.
Any donations (big, medium or small) would be absolutely fantastic in helping Macmillan continue the work they do.
Thank you so much!
