We provide fire & rescue equipment to fire services in 50 countries worldwide

Story

As someone who is terrified of heights, and much to the amusement of my family, I have decided to support Fire Aid in their fundraising efforts by abseiling down the Orbit in London. Which really is very high. In fact its 105 meters.  Stewart has offered to support me and do it along side me, but im going to make sure that the rope is tightly attached!!

This great idea, which I am referring to as "the dangle of death" will really challenge me, and in fact, simply the thought of doing this gives me clammy hands!

Please donate generously to make it worth it or I’m going to back out!!

Whilst perfectly useable equipment is being scrapped here in the UK - there are fire-fighters around the world who are fighting fires in t-shirts and flip flops. FIRE AID donates decommissioned equipment to low-middle income countries in need alongside professional training.

FIRE AID's projects cover road traffic response, wild fires, floods, refugee safety, disaster relief and much more.

Road Safety

Firefighters around the world are often the first to attend the scene of a road traffic incident and shockingly, 1.35 million people die on the world’s roads every year. This number could be reduced by 30% with improved post-crash response and trauma care.

Disaster relief

Climate change is the defining crisis of our time causing extreme weather conditions such as increased flooding and wildfires. We work to reduce communities underlying vulnerabilities and build cultures of resilience through strengthening the capacity of their fire and rescue services to respond to these disasters.

Refugee response

There are more refugees in the world today than ever before. 82.4 million have been forcibly displaced from their homes and 42% of these are children under the age of 18. This number has doubled in the last decade. We provide community fire safety training and awareness programmes in refugee settlements to protect the some of
the world’s most vulnerable people.

FIRE AID's projects save lives. They provide protection for vulnerable communities and the brave fire fighters who risk their lives to protect them.

The money raised through this challenge will go towards projects in Tajikistan, Nepal, Ukraine and Lebanon.
