Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running my first ever half marathon on 7th March 2010 in the picturesque city of Bath, to raise money for the Precious Drops Campaign. Training hasn't been easy - ever since I decided to enter I seem to have had injury after injury. At one point I almost set up a standing order with the osteopath! I am determined to get round however, and would be very grateful to anyone who donates money to this worthy cause.
The Precious Drops Campaign aims to raise £65000 to set up a human milk bank at Southmead Hospital and keep it running and equipped.
Milk banks supply donor breast milk to babies in neonatal intensive care units. The milk, collected from healthy screened mothers who have a plentiful supply, is then tested and heat treated. The milk is then given to special care babies whose mothers cannot supply their own milk.
The Bristol Milk Bank will be based at Southmead’s Maternity Unit and will supply donor breast milk to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Southmead and St Michael’s in Bristol (run by United Bristol Healthcare Trust).Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now - thank you for reading.
