Story
On 19th June I'll be riding all the way to Brighton on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
It's going to be about 60 miles but with that not being enough, the biggest challenge will be climbing Ditchling Beacon. The ones who have ridden with me know what a coward I am when it comes to riding up challenging hills. It's partly my brain telling me I can't and also those fatty empanadas that don't help the fitness (but they are delicious, aren't they?).
Having worked for the British Heart Foundation, I have had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the amazing work they do. How they help people who suffer of cardiovascular disease through groundbreaking research; the unstoppable mission educating young generations on healthier lifestyles; and the vital support they provide to families and carers.
So, inspired by the British Heart Foundation, I am facing the Ditchling Beacon monster again. I'll need lots of hill training (ouch) and even harder, stop eating empanadas :'-( (temporarily of course).
Please sponsor me, any donation will be greatly appreciated, will encourage me to pedal faster and most importantly, will help save lives.
**** SPECIAL OFFER **** I'll ride back Brighton to London on the same day if I reach my target by 200%. That will take my mileage for the day to 120 miles (plus 10 miles getting to the starting point in the morning).
I have never ridden such a long distance on the same day and I'll have my Strava recordings to prove it.
P.S. Yes, that one in the picture is me (winning a stage of le Tour de France).
The other picture is an empanada, which I won't see (or eat) in a while :'-(
