Story
My dear friend Sandra lost her battle against cancer on 13 August 2014.
The Martlets provided vital care, safety and support to Sandra and everyone close to her during the last days of her life which really means so much.
I would love to give something back to this amazing charity as I know whatever you can donate, however big or small, will be used to make someones last days as special as they can be. It cost the Martlets £422 per day to give the care they do. Sandra was there for 13 days and I would like to try to raise the cost of her care.
Last August I did my first Ironman, firstly because apparently every triathlete should do one and secondly because it scared me a lot and I thought it would be an amazing way to raise money for the Martlets. I exceeded all expectations and as if jumping into Lake Allier in Vichy wasn't scary enough I am now going to join the best in the world off the coast of Kona in Hawaii. I know this is a place Sandra would love to go to so a fitting way to continue the fundraising.
Your sponsorship and knowing that more people are benefiting from the exceptional care at the Martlets will help keep me going.
