Story
In 2009, I cycled the Coast to Coast to raise money for MS Research and Relief Fund (MSRRF) in support of my friend, Sarah Atkinson, who has MS. At that time, I did the ride with Sarah's dad, Alec, who was almost twice my age and who managed the hills much better than me.
I've decided to set myself a new cycling challenge, this time with my son, Ben, who is more than half my age! The route is a similar length to the C2C, but is described as challenging, as it includes most of the major dales with 5 significant climbs. I'm sure Ben will cope better both up hill and down dale!
Our chosen charity, MS Research and Relief Fund, is the same as last time. Although Sarah's condition has progressed since 2009, her positive spirit and determination in spite of it are an inspiration to me. This bike ride is in her honour.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Last time, we raised £865. It would be great if we could get close to that this time. Your donation, however small, will keep me/us going on the ride, which is 6-9 August, and in the hill training before then!
