<p><span>In 1817 Jane Austen introduced her first person of colour into the fragment of her final novel. Georgiana Lambe was isolated and subjected to the racist attitudes of society. <br/>Sadly that racism is still prevalent today. As fans of Sanditon we want to promote equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism. The keystone of this is education and for this reason the Sanditon Sisterhood supports the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation which works in 'Classrooms, Communities and Careers' to ‘inspire a fairer and just society’ (Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation). Supporting this wonderful foundation is our way of helping to make a difference.</span><br/></p>
