Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.
On 1st June 2019, a team of four colleagues from Jacksons Bakery, the "Jacksons Tournadoughs", will compete in the Samworth Challenge; an exhilarating adventure race where we will plan and navigate our way around a gruelling 10-hour course. Sections include running, mountain biking and canoeing (in the sea!). This will be a true test of endurance, strength and ability for us all.
We are privileged to be able to take part in this fantastic event and in doing so able to offer support to a fantastic local charity, the Special Stars Foundation.
Special Stars Foundation is a registered charity supporting people with disabilities and their families, in Hull and East Yorkshire. (Registered Charity number: 1156237) We provide a diverse range of inclusive and accessible activities for people with disabilities and their families, with the aim of reducing social isolation. In addition, we offer a range of support, training, therapy and advice services for parent carers.www.heyspecialstars.co.uk
To give you an idea of how your money can make a difference;
£15 would provide a Physiotherapy stretching session for a young person with a severe physical disability
£100 would fund a 2 hour Hydrotherapy swimming session for 20 disabled children
£1,000 would enable us to provide 15 sensory play sessions for disabled children
£2,000 would enable us to provide 24 support groups for socially isolated adults with a learning and or physical disability
£5,000 would fund 6 Makaton courses, meaning 72 families could learn sign language to be able to communicate with their disabled child
Any donations, no matter how big or small, will be thoroughly appreciated.
Thank you :)
