Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By the way I won't be riding on the bike pictured!
In 1916 multitudes of men marched through France to Thiepval to the Battle of the Somme, in 2016 we'll be cycling through France, ending at the Thiepval memorial, dedicated to the multitude of men who gave their lives during that battle.
We're doing it for a very worthwhile charity, SSAFA, the armed forces charity, something that I hope we can all get behind on the centenary of such a momentous battle. The Somme touched the lives, minds and families of so many around the country, I feel this is a good way of remembering its impact. This will be a tough event, but I feel as we know the importance of where we will be in what we will be doing, this will not concern us. We will be riding with a historian, to tell us the history of the regiment we have chosen to ride with, and the stories of the men who fought with them. I really hope you can get behind this, please donate, its a very worthwhile charity and will make my suffering on two wheels all worth it!
