Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Let me tell you about my three year old son Dylan James.  He's a typical little boy full of fun and laughter.  He's amazingly kind and thoughtful - he'd give you his last rolo and make sure that you were okay.  For some unknown reason his immune system attacks his kidneys and they don't work properly. This is called Nephrotic Syndrome and he was diagnosed with this in January of this year. Dylan has already relapsed twice and I am unsure what this means for the severity of the journey that NS will take him on.  But I know that he will face everything that is thrown at him without complaint and with a strength that humbles me.  At his tender age he already checks out the salt content of any food which he is unsure of to make sure that he is able to eat it.  He truely is amazing and the tears I shed are as much my pride of him as my heartbreak at the awfulness of NS...

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating money to help us to find a cure for NS and a healthier future for my little boy and all the children and adults who courageously battle NS everyday.

Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.
