Why am I passionate about The Art Room?

Watching kids being creative is one thing, seeing the benefits of such creativity on kids who are facing challenges in their lives is another! Witnessing the work of The Art Room and the amazing positive effects it has on the children and young people who benefit from their great work across their seven Art Rooms is truly inspiring. 

The Art Room offers art as therapy to some of the most challenging and vulnerable children and young people, some of whom may be at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. 

Faced with challenges in their lives, they provide support and care through small group sessions with highly trained practitioners. 

Every week The Art Room helps over 320 children and young people. They rely on the support of individuals like me running the marathon and I am determined to try and help. Every penny helps and if you would like some idea of what your donation will help provide I hope the figures below will inspire your generosity.

For £35 you could provide a child with a two hour session in an Art Room. 

£5 – Pot of Paint                                             

£10 – Books                                                    

£15 – Stool                                                     

£20 – Group’s breakfast or snack

£25 - 5 clocks for the students to paint

£35 - A two hour session for a child in The Art Room
