Story
The SeedSowing Network is the charity that supports a school in Kenya.
It is known locally as Mahali pa Watoto meaning 'A place for the children'.
The school was started in 2000 by Jane Thomas a Kenyan teacher and social worker, who helped at the Red Cross feeding station and wanted to do more for the children. It started with a dozen pupils and has grown over the years. It now helps 70 children and by 2013 100 children.
The school is on the outskirts of the village called Dagoretti, a slum not far from Nairobi. It is an oasis of care. In a few short years the school teaches basics like reading writing and arithmetic and provides clothing, food, discipline and the social skills needed to enter the state system. This is an escape route for these children. To read more about the amazing work of this charity visit http://www.seedsowing.co.uk/
