First of all, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  This is the first time I have tried to do any fundraising like this and on this scale so please help me make it a success.

Who am I raising money for and why?

I am raising money for the Royal British Legion (RBL) who do an outstanding job in hard times.  They spend £1.6 million a week providing practical, emotional and financial support to the Armed Forces family.  This is life-long care and support  to serving members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force, reservists, veterans of all ages and their families.  Their funding is independent of the Government and MoD and is reliant on donations and fundraising activities.  The RBL also work with other charities, such as Help for Heroes, Combat Stress and SSAFA Forces Help.

What will I be doing?

I will be walking a 160 km route between the historic city of Winchester in Hampshire and the coastal town of Eastbourne in East Sussex.  This route includes 12,500 ft of ascent and the aim is to do it in 4 days though as I'm now carrying a head cold and some blisters from last week's Pathfinder March it might be longer! 

Unfortunately my 2 team-mates have had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances, so it will be a solo effort... I have been told that I will burn 28000 calories doing this based on my slender 18.5 stone and the distance!

My goal is set at £2 per km, which is probably the same that I'll spend in Mars Bars to keep me going...

100% of the donations here will go straight to RBL and the Poppy Appeal.  I am doing this on behalf of my local Branch of the Legion, Chatteris.
