Story
Hi, I'm Sam.
In November 2020 I had a phone call telling me that my brother had sadly passed away, he had committed suicide.
My brother had faced many different knock backs and struggles throughout his life and whilst he was an absolute pain in the arse he was a caring, loving and thoughtful man. After finding out he had passed I had a series of emotion, anger, hatred and sadness.
Throughout this I was also going through mental health struggles of my own however the difference between me and my brother is I swallowed my pride and spoke out, through seeing a therapist and medication I was able to get myself better, something that my brother sadly didn't do himself.
Men's mental health and suicide is a topic often spoken about yet pride gets in the way and many don't seek help resulting in lives lost.
For my 30th birthday my parents bought me a skydive which I'm absolutely terrified for and on the 9th of September I'll be thrown out of a plane. If i'm doing something so extreme I can at least attempt to raise money to help a charity that deals with mental health so I'll be raising money for Mind Nottinghamshire.
100% of all donations raised will go directly to the charity and any donation no matter how big or small will be appreciated and I'm thankful for anyone who can especially during this time.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and I do not look forward to jumping out of a plane!!
