Story

The Spofforth family are braving the winter waters on Christmas eve to raise money for the Alzheimer's society. We will be swimming in the sea at Walberswick at lunchtime on Christmas eve!
Christmas eve will mark the third anniversary of our Mums death, who was affected by this cruel disease from a very young age. Mum loved to swim in the sea, particularly at Walberswick, so we feel she would love this challenge. Sadly there will be so many other families and individuals experiencing the affects of Alzheimer's this christmas. It would be great to raise money for others and create something positive from what is otherwise a very sad day for our family.

The local groups of the Alzheimer's society are a real support for those affected by this illness, providing events for those affected by the disease and a chance for the families to a few hours respite, as well as to meet others in a similar situation. In particular the Needham Market group helped our Mum and our family through the illness. So the money from this swim will be 'ring-fenced' for the Needham market group. It would be brilliant to give something back to the Alzheimer's Society, as  they carry out really vital work.

We realise that christmas is already an expensive time, but any contributions would be gratefully received.

We will post some photos up!

Thanks for your kind donations.
