Story
450km across 7 days in 30 degrees heat, on a (barely used) bike! Sounds like fun…?!
This October I’ll be joining the incredible team at Railway Children and a group of bike enthusiasts on a gruelling trip cycling through Vietnam and into Cambodia. Having never previously ridden a bike without balancing a child on the back, it seemed like a great opportunity to take on a huge personal challenge and raise money that will go to support some of the most vulnerable children in the world.
The trip itself will see me spend between six and eight hours in the saddle each day, travelling across waterways and plantations on unpaved and dusty roads, slightly different surfaces to the hills I’ll be training on but all part of the challenge for a true bike novice!
Throughout the summer I’ll be up early and home late, trying to fit the training in and around family and working life, with 1250 miles of training to be done before I even fly out; hoping that this will set me up to complete the course and raise money for this excellent charity.
I will provide regular updates as the training progresses and welcome offers for anyone to join me on a ride!
Thank you for your support, it will make a real difference.
