Assalamualaikum family and friends, hello and welcome. 

Ramadan is a special time for Muslims. It is a time for spiritual reflection and growth, connection to god and self-awareness and empathising with those who have less and a time for charity and service to others.

This year I am raising money for refugees both here in Hertfordshire and overseas where refugee numbers are rising daily. Refugees worldwide are forced to leave their homes, mostly with nothing with them except the clothes on their backs and they travel for miles to find somewhere new to call home, where they can escape the persecutions from their homeland. According to Amnesty International, there are currently an estimated 25.9 million refugees worldwide, the highest ever recorded. Sadlly, half of today's refugees are children. 

We have all seen the devastating events in Ukraine, but there are so many other places in the world where refugees need our help.
