Story
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for all your donations so far, your support has been amazing. Unfortunately, I am having to drop out of the half-marathon this year due to a leg injury. It's really disappointing as I was so looking forward to competeing, but it's just not possible for me to continue my training at the moment. However, I have every intention of entering the 2012 event in Sheffield instead after I've given my leg chance to heal and got back on to the running, and I have extended my page so that all your donations are carried on to next year.
Thanks again for all your continued support - I will do it one day and in the meantime I'll be baking cakes and organising some more fundraising events.
Love Sal x
Old message: Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page, if you're here you'll probably have already heard me talking about my mad bid to run the Sheffield Half-Marathon on the 8th of May this year. You'll also probably already know (since it seems to be all I talk about!) that I've been training my socks off since 1st Jan in an attempt to do you all proud and really earn the sponsorship I get. It's something I've wanted to try for a few years now, so I finally decided to take the plunge, and even if I have to crawl I am determined get over that finish line!
I've chosen to return to my home town, Sheffield, to do their half-marathon as the route takes me through some of my favourite places in Sheffield, which will hopefully spur me on. And I've chosen the British Heart Foundation as my charity as I hope the money I raise will go towards research to help my own and many many other families with heart-related illnesses in the future.
So all that remains is for me to get on with the training and fundraising! Please don't feel obliged to donate, your support and encouragement is enough, but if you would like to then any amount large or small would be wonderful.
Thanks for all your support - wish me luck!
Sally x
Ps. Here's the formal bit - Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
