Story
So having had to pull out of last years London Marathon due to illness....I've finally done it! Huzzah! What a relief and what a day! It had been on my to do list for a very long time.
I know lots of people sponsored me last year which was wonderful and definately helped to motivate me but if you didn't and wanted to then that would be great. I'd love to reach my initial target of £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support - who were fantastic when my Dad was ill some time ago.
This has been on my 'to do' list for a while now, ever since watching those guys in the 80's with headbands and elastic-band legs weaving towards the finish line. I just love that the Marathon is so democratic, anyone can fill in the form and join in one of the greatest sporting events ever. So I filled it in.
I will be on the start line somewhat underprepared having had setbacks along the way but as the saying goes...'it's not the finishing that is the miracle it's having the courage to start....' or something like that. I'm unsure in my case whether it's courage or a streak of madness, either way I will need both next Sunday.
I would love to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support who were so brilliant at helping my family and continue to help countless others.
