Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2009 our grandson Charlie was born with a heart problem and required a life saving operation at the Birmingham Childrens Hospital when he was only two weeks old. As you can see from the photograph he is healthy, happy and thriving thanks to the superb professionalism of the consultant and medical team responsible for his care. On behalf of the whole family we wish to thank them from the bottom of our heart.
As a thank you to the wonderful staff for their skills, help and understanding, I have decided to raise money for the hospital by walking the famous Wainwrights Coast to Coast path from St. Bees on the west coast to Robin Hood Bay on the east coast, 190 miles in total. I will be beginning the walk on 26th September 2010 and will take 13 days to complete.
As it is such a great charity I would appreciate your assistance to raise as much money as possible to help the hospital continue with its tremendous work.
Since I began raising money, the hospital has started a fund to raise £2,000,000 for Heart Appeal. This will make the hospital one of the most advanced childrens heart centres in the world. All monies donated for my walk from now on will be donated to the Heart Appeal fund.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please find it in your heart to donate and make a difference.
Thank you.
