Story
As most of my close friends and family will know, 2014 was a very difficult year for my family, especially my parents. I am incredibly grateful for all the support my family have had, and I feel very fortunate to have had all these wonderful people taking mummy to appointments, sitting with her through the 'Chemothon' and the various dinners and cakes dropped round, that myself and my brother, Robbie, particularly enjoyed!
This year, I am taking part in the Great North Run, for Cancer Research UK. As well as Leeds, Edinburgh is home to one of the Cancer Research UK .These centres are just the two of many which your money will go towards should you choose to donate. The researchers in Leeds are focusing mainly on bowel, urological, blood and skin cancers, and brain tumours. They have particular expertise in immunotherapy, virus therapy and radiotherapy for treating patients. Scientists at the Edinburgh Centre are focusing on bowel, breast and ovarian cancers, and their work will build on Edinburgh’s world class research into cancer.
Here are the links to both research centres if you would like to read more!
