Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We all volunteered in Nepal in 2011 and the country and its people have remained in hearts ever since. Nepal is a beautiful country and is filled with friendly, generous and humble people.
As you all know, Nepal has been struck by a devastating earthquake, leaving the majority of the population with little or no access to food, clean water, safe housing, sanitation and medical care. All of these things are very much needed in this initial period following the disaster, and aid teams are starting to trickle through to deliver necessary help. As such we are fundraising for DEC, the Disasters Emergency Committee, which is working urgently to provide emergency assistance and will continue to work with individuals, families and communities to support them to rebuild their lives.
We are challenging ourselves to "Live Below the Line" for 5 days... this means living on only £5 for the the week, in other words only £1 per day for all food and drink!
We understand this will in no way come close to what people across Nepal are currently experiencing following the earthquake, living without food, water, heating or sanitation. However we hope that by undertaking this challenge we can encourage you to donate what you can to support our efforts, and more importantly support the organisations delivering vital aid on the ground to help those most in need.
Please, please, PLEASE give what you can! All funds are guaranteed to go directly to the relief efforts in Nepal.
Thank you for your support :)
