Story

In 2018 our third son was born with cystic fibrosis, for which there is currently no cure. In an attempt to help in some way, I am taking on a hat trick of events to help raise funds for research into a life-saving treatment. It seems that a desperate mother will go to great lengths...

1) London marathon 2020: I ran the London marathon in 2016. The photo below shows me in pink alongside a man in a white t-shirt. I never noticed him before, but today this photo makes me go cold. Never in my craziest nightmare, did I ever imagine that I would be running with such heartfelt reason in this very t-shirt.

2) Stand Up to Cystic Fibrosis (SUP2CF)We have founded this new SUP event, stand up paddle boarding 26 nautical miles (30 miles) around Bournemouth bay. I was going to SUP this route alone, but it didn't feel enough. To make a wave of difference I needed a sea of SUPers with me and so SUP2CF was born. Up to 100 paddlers will be hitting the ocean on 6th June 2020. For more information or to join us, visit www.sup2cf.co.uk.

3) Bournemouth half marathon: To bring together the running and the ocean, I will complete 2020 with a 13.1 mile run along the Bournemouth coast as my final hurrah.

That's almost 70 miles of sweat and grit without including one training session. For all three events, I hope to raise £5,000 for the CF Trust, to help our dear boy, and all those who live alongside him in hope, and those so sadly lost.
