Story

From false allegations, legal victories to genuine battle of life and death

~ Bhai Kulveer Singh Heera's young daughter diagnosed with cancer

Bhai Kulbir Singh Heera, is a Gursikh and Sevadar of the Panth who spent 4 years remanded, falsely accused until proving his innocence in an Indian Court.

Incarcerated from July 2010 to August 2014 Heera received a Sikh Relief start up grant after applying through our Kirat Kamai programme that helps people to become self sufficient, offering a hand up and not a hand out, he was supplied a small pickup truck to run a business.

At the time of his custody Sikh Relief had taken responsibility for the education of his son and daughter through grants from our Education project and separately, a family sustenance package from our Social Welfare programme.

Tragically though, just when 27 year old Navjyot Kaur, a BA finalist had managed to completed her studies and was beginning to take steps for a better future, an unimaginable catastrophe has attacked the happiness of this humble yet beautiful Gursikh family.

Navjyot Kaur had been visiting the DMC Ludhiana Hospital due to a prolonged feeling of adverse health, having been subjected to all manner of tests, Bhenji has now had her preliminary diagnosis confirmed as an aggressive cancer.

Sadh Sangat Ji Bhai Kulbir Singh Heera's family cannot afford expensive treatment for Navjyot Kaur. The sole earner of the home, Bhai heera is not financially stable enough to provide the very expensive treatment for their daughter and support his family.

They say it takes a village to raise a child and the life of our collective kaumi baby, Bibi Navjyot Kaur, is in grave danger and only prayers to the Almighty Giver of Life and Breath and the best available medical assistance can help her at this most difficult time.

Young Navjyot Kaur is a daughter of the Khalsa Panth and it is our responsibility to contribute our dasvandh, be it time to help highlight her circumstances or donate what little you can and be part of her battle against this most dreaded disease and help her recovery.

We appeal to the global Guru Piyari Sadh Sangat Ji to unify and make a united effort to support the treatment of Navjyot Kaur on the following links and account numbers, so that the best most effective treatment can be facilitated for Navjot Kaur.

We are forever indebted to and thankful of the Sangat Ji, without whom we could never help or support anyone.
