Ruth runs ... and runs ... and runs!

Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
It probably causes quite a lot of amusement that I am running a marathon - I am not exactly what springs to mind when you think of a runner. None the less, on 24 April, I will be joining 38,000 other nutters, to run a whopping 42.2 km!
I was lucky (?) enough to get a ballot place but I could not think of a better charity to raise money for than Plan UK. I have worked for Plan for 18 months and even visited some of our work out in Laos and I know that the funds I raise will be well spend, impacting the future of some of the world's poorest children.
Plan works for children and their communities to help realise children’s rights. We work across a range of sectors, including education, health, child protection, child participation, economic security and water and sanitation.
Please watch this short video which illustrates our work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHfAI36NJjg
Please donate what you can to spur me on through my hours and hours of training on cold dark winters days.
ü£8 could buy the materials for simple ‘tippy taps’ for hand washing in schools in Ugandaü £100 could provide emergency education kits for 30 children to carry on learning if their school is closed by a natural disaster.
For anyone donating £20 or more, you can donate a song to my on-the-day playlist. If you donate over £50, I will love you forever!
It will be my biggest challenge to date so I am so grateful for all of your support and the difference it will make to some of the world’s poorest children.
