Story
Walking is easy for many people, but it isn't for me. I have Multiple Sclerosis. Like everyone with this and other incurable neurological diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer's and Motor Neurone Disease, I experience physical pain, mobility problems and a precarious future (as well as other difficulties.)
So am I just going to sit around & mope about it? No I am not!
Instead, I am walking/rolling 500 miles with my Walker - inspired by The Proclaimers' song - to raise funds for The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic (which operates under the auspices of the University of Edinburgh.)
My 500 mile walk is - by necessity - being done over the course of one year (due to my M.S. I can just about manage a mile or 2 each day.)
I couldn't even contemplate achieving this without the aid of my wheely-walker trolley, which I have named "Angus."
I am maintaining a log/spreadsheet of my walks to track and calculate the distance Angus & I cover each day. I've completed the 500 miles now! (On 29th October 2017).
Of course, finishing on time depends on my (unpredictable) health: this is why I am looking for DONATIONS as I go along, rather than actual sponsorship.
