Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

Thanks for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge!

I'm raising money for the incredible charity, Alzheimer's Scotland.

Dementia is an overall term for diseases and conditions characterised by a decline in memory, change in personality, language, problem-solving and other thinking skills that affect a person's ability to perform everyday activities. These conditions are all usually progressive and eventually severe. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, affecting 62 per cent of those diagnosed. Dementia is a terminal condition.

After participating in the 'Virtual' London Marathon in October 2020, I'm finally running the 'live' London Marathon this October. Thanks to everyone who donated in 2020 and for all the support I was given on the day. A virtual marathon was a big mental challenge!

Since October 2020 there has been a new arrival - our daughter Josie, born in July 2021. Coming back to running post pregnancy has definitely not been an easy road, and will make this marathon an even bigger personal achievement.

My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!
