Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to donate towards my chosen charity- it means the world to me.
Some of you may know that on the 16th April 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. From my first appointment with my amazing Haematologist and my wonderful MAcMillan nurse, I had nothing but support, reassurance and care. This fundraiser is my way of giving something back to the incredible care I had whilst going through chemotherapy and to support those who are currently undergoing cancer treatments.
Whilst undertaking 16 infusions of chemotherapy, I met so many strong and inspirational people along the way, one being Carol Short, who I’m dedicating this walk to. I met her on my first ever day of chemotherapy, and she gave me so much comfort and support, despite the fact that she was facing a much harder battle. Sadly Carol passed away later in the year of 2020 and I never got to tell her how grateful I was to her amazing support she gave me … so whilst I walk the half marathon through hilly terrain, I’ll be thinking of her, our conversations of our love of our families and friends and enjoying our cups of teas.
Thank you so much for supporting me in anyway which you can. I’ll also have a paper sponsor form if you’d rather donate that way instead- please just let me know.
A huge thank you to those who have supported me in previous charity fundraising, it truly means a lot
